Notes From Our Journey

From twenty-six years of building custom homes on Lake Texoma, here we share about our process and what we've learned about design, materials, engineering, and the decisions that shape a home built to last for generations — the questions clients ask us most often, and the answers we give around the table in our design center.

Treasure Lake Home: A Design Rooted in Passion

June 4, 2026

Some homes are shaped by a singular idea that defines every room, every corridor. At the Treasure Lake Home, that idea is wine. Originally envisioned by clients relocating to the Lake Texoma region, the design began and continued to evolve around a central, glass-walled wine room—expansive enough to rival a garage. This distinct feature forms the core, meticulously integrated by Ceci Bates around which the living room, dining room, and kitchen seamlessly orbit.

From initial discussions, the design was an iterative journey fueled by the owners’ passion and needs. Roberth Jordan, our architect, led a collaborative exploration, evolving the floor plan through countless revisions. The client later echoed Roberth’s sentiment that each concept was thoughtfully evaluated until perfection took shape.

The Treasure Lake Home exhibits a harmonious exterior synergy. A transitional architecture emerges, employing an array of materials: brick, stucco, stone, and standing-seam metal. These elements converge over a complex roofline, marrying the home’s extensive interior life with its outward presentation. Floor-to-ceiling windows illuminate each room, fostering a connection with the outdoors while optimizing light and energy.

The upper level accommodates a soundproof game room with glass walls, alongside a private space for international work. These features ensure the home suits every facet of its owners’ lives. Heather Shields, interior designer, curated an interior palette of subtle sheens that amplify the architectural form and natural materials. Despite its grand scale, the home yields utility costs markedly lower than expected due to energy-efficient engineering.

Often, the most truly personal homes are the ones that benefit from deliberate exploration. To discover more of our thoughtful designs, visit cecibates.com.
