Notes From Our Journey
From twenty-six years of building custom homes on Lake Texoma, here we share about our process and what we've learned about design, materials, engineering, and the decisions that shape a home built to last for generations — the questions clients ask us most often, and the answers we give around the table in our design center.
The End of a Project Marks the Start of a Relationship

For many builders, the completion of a home marks the conclusion of their client relationship. A final walkthrough is conducted, the warranty period is initiated, and clients are often left to navigate homeownership on their own. The transaction is complete, and the builder moves on to the next project.
At Ceci Bates Custom Homes, we perceive this pivotal moment differently. The end of construction is not the closing chapter but the beginning of an enduring relationship. During the final walkthrough, our entire team is present to ensure that every aspect of the home is clearly explained. We take the time to familiarize our clients with the intricate workings of their new residence, addressing any concerns they might have with care and precision.
But our involvement does not cease there. We are committed to supporting our clients beyond the usual boundaries of a warranty period. Our network of past clients illustrates this commitment; over 250 past clients attended the opening of our new office, including some whose homes we built two decades ago. This continuity extends to the next generation as well, as adult children contact us regarding properties their parents crafted with our team, demonstrating trust in the lasting value of our work.
Such ongoing relationships are not by chance — they are a fundamental part of our philosophy. Building a custom home is a significant investment not just in money, but in the future way of life that the home enables. The builder’s relationship with the client should naturally honor that long-term perspective.
If you are beginning to consider a home that aligns with how you envision living for the coming decades, it might be time to explore how we work. We invite you to start a thoughtful conversation at cecibates.com.
